Celebrating Your Quinceañera at St. Procopius / Providence of God

Celebrating your quinceañera or “quince años” is a way for Latinos in the United States to celebrate the passage from childhood to adolescence.

When a young woman turns fifteen, there is a custom of coming to the church to give thanks to God and to Our Lady of Guadalupe for being a part of the young woman’s life and to ask for a blessing. The mass of thanksgiving is usually celebrated with family and friends present. After the Liturgy of the Word, the young woman renews her baptismal promises and makes a commitment to God and to the Virgin Mary to live her life according to the teachings of Christ. After the religious celebration, the celebration usually continues with a dinner and dance in honor of the young woman.

To reserve a date for your quinceañera at St. Procopius/Providence of God, you must schedule an appointment to meet with the priest. The quinceañera Masses are at 12:30pm,  at 2:00pm and 3:30pm. The cost of the Mass is $550 and there is a $100 non-refundable deposit in order to officially reserve the date. You are responsible for contracting the musicians and paying them directly.
